How is the roof of a Sunliner RV made?

Sunliner has developed the trademarked DuraRoof system, unique to Sunliner RVs.

The roof, like our walls, uses a lightweight compressed multilayer “sandwich” type system and is comprised of a;

  • reinforced timber frame with cross member ribs for added strength.
  • interior laminate skin
  • Duplo foam core for insulation
  • exterior filon (fibreglass sheeting) skin.

We use only one piece in our roof manufacturing ensuring that there are no joins or gaps providing the most seamless watertight result possible.

The roof your Sunliner RV is strong. It has been designed to not only hold the weight of the equipment installed (air conditioner, solar panels etc) but also the weight of a person. During the construction phase of our RVs our team do climb on the roof (wearing a full safety harness). We advise extreme care when climbing on your RV roof, or better still leave any roof clambering to your RV service team!

If you would like to install additional items to the roof of your motorhomes, extra solar panels etc, we recommend you contact your local Sunliner dealer. They will be able to assess the available space, weight and securing method of the item relative to the most suitable securing position particular to your RV.
